Tower Hill Freshman Mullins Breaks 16-Year-Old Record at Delaware Girls States

March 4, 2020 DELAWARE— A close team battle at the Delaware Girls State Championships saw Tower Hill take the title by just 9 points. Behind them, Newark Charter and Ursuline tied for the runner-up spot. Padua was just 19 points behind the winning score in 4th. Tower Hill freshman Lainey Mullins was one of the standouts of the meet. In the 200 free, Mullins broke a 16-year-old State Record. She swam a lifetime best 1:48.32 to win her first individual title.

OSU Commit Herczeg Posts 44.6 100 Free for Class A Record at Minnesota States

March 3, 2020 MINNESOTA— Jack Herczeg took down the Class A Record in prelims of the 100 free. Herczeg, an Ohio State commit set it at a 44.62 and was just a hundredth slower to win the final. He also won the 200 free (1:40.29). His 1:40.12 in prelims was just a couple of tenths off the Class A Record.

Luke Maurer Sets State Record, St. Charles North Defends Illinois Boys State Title by Two Points

March 3, 2020 ILLINOIS— The 2020 Illinois Boys State Swimming and Diving Championships took place on Saturday, Feb. 29 at the New Trier Natatorium in Winnetka, Ill. The meet was highlighted by Loyola Academy’s Luke Maurer who broke the Illinois state record in the 200 free during prelims with a time of 1:34.49. St. Charles North defended their state title with a total of 137 points, just two points ahead of runner-up Loyola Academy (135).

Carmel boys swim team breaks 5 state records en route to 6th consecutive title

March 2, 2020 INDIANA— Before Carmel High School swimmers Wyatt Davis and Jake Mitchell head off to Michigan, they had some unfinished business: an assault on the state record book. The seniors led the Greyhounds to their sixth consecutive state title Feb. 29 at the boys swimming state finals at the Indiana University.

March 2, 2020 DEPTFORD TOWNSHIP— Katie McClintock, a Mainland Regional High School junior, swam to two victories at the Meet of Champions on Sunday.

Cumberland Regional’s Melissa Lowry won one race and placed second in another at the season-ending meet at Gloucester County Institute of Technology.

Jake Mitchell, Wyatt Davis Lead Carmel to Sixth-Straight Indiana Boys Championship Title

March 1, 2020— The 2020 Indiana Boys State Swimming and Diving Championship took place on Saturday, Feb. 29 at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind. A total of five Indiana state records were broken during the meet.

The meet was highlighted by senior Jake Mitchell breaking the National Public High School record in the 500 free with a jaw-dropping 4:14.68. Carmel used their impressive depth to win the sixth-straight championship crown with 331 points ahead of Munster (183) and Chesterton (163).

Jake Mitchell Breaks National Public School Record in 500 Free at Indiana High School State

March 1, 2020— Carmel High School’s Jake Mitchell broke the national public school record in the 500 freestyle on Saturday at the Indiana Boys High School State Championships in Indianapolis as he swam a 4:14.68. The time broke Jake Magahey’s 4:15 from last season as that was a historic swim in itself, lowering the oldest public school record at the time that was broken in the 80s by current Minnesota coach Jeff Kostoff . Head coach Chris Plumb , who guided the team to 6 event wins and 5 state records, become the most decorated IHSAA coach with 6 state championships.

Feb. 29, 2020— Omaha Creighton Prep positioned itself throughout the preliminary round swims to make a run Saturday at the school's 14th consecutive state swimming title and 22nd overall.

Rush Clark lowered his own state record in the 100-yard butterfly, lowering the standard from 47.54 to 47.21 before a capacity crowd at the Devaney Center Natatorium.

Feb. 26, 2020 JENKS, OKLAHOMA— Senior Jack Callan couldn’t have written a better script to wrap up his high school swimming career. The Bishop Kelley standout won four gold medals and set state records in each event at the recent OSSAA State Swimming Championships in Jenks. He also led the Comets to their second consecutive state team title. They dominated the Class 5A field, winning by an impressive 148 points.

Aloha senior  Kaitlyn Dobler  stole the show after she broke the overall National High School record in the 100 breast with a jaw-dropping 58.35, which also crushed her own Class 6A and Oregon state record.

Feb. 25, 2020 OREGON— The 2020 Oregon 5A State Swimming Championships took place on Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Tualatin Aquatics Center in Beaverton, Ore. Wilsonville’s  Abby Maoz highlighted the meet by setting a new Class 5A record in the 100 breast with a time of 1:03.04 during prelims. Crescent Valley secured the team title on the girls side with 75 points ahead of West Albany (50), while the boys of Churchill won the championship crown with 53 points over West Albany (39.5).

Ohio State Commit Khouzam Breaks Austin Staab's 100 FL Record at Ohio D1 States

Feb. 24, 2020 OHIO— In his only individual race, Khouzam, an Ohio State commit, took down the State Record in the 100 fly. He set his lifetime best 47.01 in the final, breaking the former record set by Westerville Central’s Austin Staab back in 2007, Staab went on to set the American Record in the event as he was an NCAA Champion for Stanford.
