Sept. 5, 2020— Rising high school senior Jibran Himsieh from Arlington, Texas has verbally committed to the University of Missouri. Representing Arlington’s Lamar High School, Himsieh was the Texas Class 6A Region 1 High School Champion in both the 200 free (1:40.79) and 500 free (4:35.41) in January as a junior. 2 weeks later, at the Texas high school state championship meet, he finished 13th in the 200 free in 1:40.89, almost exactly matching his Regionals swim. March 29, 2020— Alli Anger of Mandeville, Louisiana has announced her verbal commitment to join the Drury University swim team in the fall. She swims year round with the Pelican Athletic Club as well as attending Archbishop Hannan High School. Last November Anger was a two-event finalist at the LHSAA (Louisiana high school) Division 3 State Championships. There, she finished 3rd in both the 200 free (1:58.12) and 100 back (1:00.89). March 29, 2020— All in all, Diehl broke seven state records in the nine events he raced at the 14-and-under Maryland Short Course Championship held at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, setting meet records in every event along the way. He was honored as the Maryland Short Course and the Maryland Long Course Swimmer of the Year at the competition for the second straight year.

Georgia Wright Breaks NCAA Division II Record in 1000 to Start Off Championships

March 12, 2020— The 2020 NCAA Division II swimming and diving championships opened up Wednesday night from Geneva, Ohio as one NCAA Division II record fell. The McKendree men and Queens women lead the competition after day one finals. The one NCAA record to fall on Wednesday came in the very first event as Georgia Wright swam a 9:43.70, breaking her own record of 9:45.86 that she set in winning last year. Wright won ahead of Mia Wood (9:50.96) of Mines and Erica Dahlgren (9:56.67) of Drury.
