March 31, 2020— Cal men’s head coach Dave Durden was featured on a new episode of on Monday, discussing his thoughts on the postponement of the Olympic Games and what the experience was like for his swimmers in the lead-up to the official deferral of the Games last week. In a snippet of the interview posted by the Pac-12 Network on Twitter, Durden detailed how his athletes felt like a weight had been lifted off their shoulders once the Games were finally postponed. Dressel Breaks PSS Record with 21.51 50 FR, Ties 6th-Fastest Career Time

March 8, 2020— Caeleb Dressel finished out the Des Moines Pro Swim Series with a bang, swimming his fastest 50 free since the 2019 World Champs last Summer. Dressel won the race with a 21.51, breaking the Pro Swim Series record of 21.56, which was held by Nathan Adrian from the 2015 PSS in Minneapolis. The time ties Dressel’s 6th fastest 50 of his career, and marks his fastest performance ever outside of World Champs or US Nationals.

TYR Pro Swim Series Prelims: Regan Smith Sets the Pace in 100 Back

March 8, 2020— Regan Smith will get another chance to show what she’s got in Saturday night’s final day of the TYR Pro Swim Series stop in Des Moines. She enters the evening as the top seed in the 100 backstroke, an event where she holds the world record, after a morning swim of 58.79 seconds. The second seed is Olivia Smoliga in 59.60 with Kathleen Baker also under a minute in the morning prelims.

March 6, 2020— The fourth installment of the TYR Pro Swim Series in Mission Viejo will have a wrinkle designed to prepare swimmers for the Tokyo Olympics, with finals flipped to the morning. The announcement for the April 16-19 stop in California was made Wednesday. At the penultimate event in the 2020 Pro Swim Series , prelims will be held in the evening with finals the following morning. It’s an effort to acclimate swimmers to the calendar in Tokyo, where the morning swims will be the finals, to accommodate for the time difference between Tokyo and many major television markets across the globe.

March 6, 2020— The first full night of finals from the 2020 Pro Swim Series in Des Moines, Iowa is set to get underway, with the 100 free, 100 breast, 200 fly and 400 free on the docket. In this morning’s prelims , the standout swim came from Hali Flickinger, who lowered her #1 time in the world this year in the women’s 200 fly down from 2:07.65 to 2:06.78. Flickinger will have a great shot tonight to break the eight-year-old PSS Record of 2:06.76 set by Cammile Adams in 2012.

May 20, 2019— Two important swim meets ran last weekend the Atlanta Classic and the Bloomington TYR Pro Series. In Atlanta, Caeleb Dressel showed his training is on track when he beat Chase Kalisz in the 200 Butterfly with a personal best of 1:56.29. In Bloomington, Lilly King led the Indiana contingent when she swam this year's #1 world spots in the 50 breast (30.03) and the 100 breast (1:05.68).
