Distance Specialist Maddy Grafmiller Will Suit Up for the Virginia Tech Hokies in Fall 2021

July 19, 2020— Distance swimmer Maddy Grafmiller of Humble, Texas, has given her verbal pledge to Virginia Tech beginning in the fall of 2021. She will join Julia Nappi , Ava Yandle , Alexandra Eastmond and Athena Vanyo in Blacksburg as a member of the Hokies’ class of 2025. She told Swimming World: “I am so ecstatic to announce my decision to verbally commit to swim and study at Virginia Tech!! ❤️🧡 I would like to thank everyone who has helped me during this process: my supportive parents, my teammates, my friends, and my coaches!

SwimMAC’s Ava Yandle Gives Verbal Nod to Virginia Tech for 2021

July 14, 2020— After originally committing to East Carolina University in May, rising high school senior Ava Yandle bounced back from the elimination of the ECU program and found a home at Virginia Tech for the 2021-22 school year and beyond. Yandle swims for Piedmont, North Carolina’s Piedmont High School, where she is a two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, and SwimMAC Carolina. She specializes in back and fly and is a Winter Juniors qualifier in the 100/200 back and 100 fly.
