April 1, 2020— Emily Appleton , a senior at Cohasset High School and a member of Weymouth Club Waves in Weymouth, Massachusetts, has announced her commitment to swim for Dartmouth College in the fall of 2020, making her a 2nd generation attendee. A distance swimmer and Open Water Nationals qualifier, Appleton would have finished in the top 20 in both the 500 and 1,650-yard freestyles at the 2020 Ivy League Championships. March 28, 2020— The International Olympic Committee has confirmed that athletes already qualified “by name” for the 2020 Olympics will remain qualified for the postponed Games, NBC Sports’ Nick Zaccardi reported Saturday . March 17, 2020— USA Swimming has announced that it is cancelling the Mission Viejo Pro Swim Series that was set to take place in California in mid-April because of the growing concern of the coronavirus. The organization has also decided to postpone the Open Water National and Junior National Championships that were set to take place at the end of April in Fort Myers, Florida.
