After revealing that she had tested positive for COVID-19 on March 31, Hungarian world champion Boglarka Kapas is still showing no symptoms and is even doing some dryland training at home. The Hungarian Swimming Federation has suspended training for Hungarian swimmers who have been abroad after 9 National Team members tested positive for COVID-19. Hungarian Olympic icon Katinka Hosszu alongside Iron Swim partners Máté Gelencsér and Tamás Batházi recently donated a total of 1.5 million Hungarian forints (roughly $4,500 USD) to the research of the novel coronavirus. Iron Swim Budapest, not to be confused with the Budapest-based club Iron of the International Swimming League, is Hosszu’s club team and was named for her “Iron Lady” moniker. Hungarian swimming is bracing itself for more positive coronavirus-COVID-19 tests after and Dominik Kozma tested positive following training camps with teammates. The Hungarian swimming federation arranged checks for all members of the national squad wishing to continue to have access to pools, at home or on overseas camps. Boglarka Kapas , who won bronze in the 800m freestyle at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, has announced she has tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). News that additional Hungarian swimmers have tested positive for COVID-19 is rolling in after world champion Boglarka Kapas announced her positive test. The Hungarian Swimming Federation released a statement saying that nine people, including National Team swimmers and staff members, had tested positive as of Tuesday night.
