The University of Akron has received a verbal commitment from Grace Nuhfer for its class of 2025. She is a year-round swimmer at Greenwood Gators Inc. and she is in her final year at Greenwood Community High School. Nuhfer is a senior at Greenwood Community High School. During her junior season, she competed at the Franklin Community Indiana HS Sectional Championships. The 2020 CSCAA National Invitational Championship, a meet designed to bring together the best non-NCAA qualifiers in the country, is set to kick off on Thursday from Cleveland State University. This is the fifth edition of the meet, and the second straight hosted at CSU. After the first two competitions took place in 2014 and 2015, it went on a two-year hiatus before being revived in April of 2017. Akron continues to lead the team race through the 2nd day of competition, taking the 200 IM and 200 free relay. Akron sophomore Sarah Watson defended her title in the 200 IM, swimming a 1:57.65. Watson won the event with a 1:57.33 last year, which still stands as her personal best.
