A scaled-down Shamrock Invite takes on a different format this year, as the timed finals meet will see a total of six sessions over three days. The men swam morning and afternoon sessions yesterday, then wrapped up with a morning session today, and then women will swim this afternoon and tomorrow. Instead of the normal bevy of teams, this iteration of the annual invite featured only the hosts Notre Dame and Missouri State on the men’s side, with the Fighting Irish completing a clean sweep and winning 268-86. NC State’s Kylee Alons has been named ACC Women’s Swimmer of the Week and North Carolina’s Aranza Vazquez has been named Diver of the Week. Louisville’s Mitchell Whyte has been selected as the ACC Men’s Swimmer of the Week and teammate Daniel Pinto has been named Diver of the Week. A native of Fort Collins, Colorado, Alons helped the No. 4 Wolfpack to wins over No. 16 Duke (163.5-93.5) and No. 18 North Carolina (188-109). The No. 17/RV Notre Dame swimming and diving team broke records in its first meet of the new school year.
