Read, Watch, Play: What Elite Swimmers Around The World Are Doing At Home
March 29, 2020— As the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to unfold essentially minute-by-minute around the world, one thing we know is that athletes across all sports are off the field, away from the court and out of the pool indefinitely. Most swimmers already had comprehensive strength and conditioning programs built into their overall training regimens, but they are now forced to rely on just those athletic outlets until they’re able to finally get wet once again. Besides dryland training, your favorite elite stars are also keeping their minds sharp by catching up on books they’ve been me ...

R. Smith, Andrew Lead Des Moines Money Earners, Smith Leads Entire PSS
March 9, 2020— Regan Smith earned the most prize money of any athlete for a second-consecutive Pro Swim Series stop, and she now leads the entire series in earnings at $13,000. Smith didn’t even swim the season-opening stop at Greensboro, but put up identical $6500 totals in Knoxville and Des Moines to earn the series lead. Smith is still under amateurism restrictions on how much of that money she can accept, though, given that she still plans to swim for Stanford in the NCAA.

Smith & Murphy Lead PSS As 16 of Top 20 Swims of Season Come In Des Moines
March 9, 2020— It’s a backstroker’s world; we just live in it. Backstrokers Ryan Murphy and Regan Smith lead the 2020 Pro Swim Series as the Des Moines stop produced 16 of the top 20 swims of the Pro Swim Series season in FINA points. Smith already led the series by a pretty-much-insurmountable margin. In fact, after her 986-point 100 back swim in Knoxville, we did some fun math to project just how improbable it would be that anyone could beat that swim over the rest of the tour.
