Brazilian Olympian and 2019 Worlds silver medalist Bruno Fratus swam his one and only event on Saturday at the Speedo Sectionals Plantation meet in Florida as he won the 50 freestyle with a 22.16. Fratus, 30, was slow off the blocks in finals tonight, out-racing his Coral Springs teammate Renzo Tjon-a-Joe (22.39), who represents Suriname internationally. Fratus swam a 21.97 this morning, which is two tenths slower than his season best of 21.7 from January. Fratus is one of the top sprinters in the world and is certainly a favorite to win a medal in Tokyo this summer for Brazil.
