R. Smith, Andrew Lead Des Moines Money Earners, Smith Leads Entire PSS
SWIMSWAM
March 9, 2020— Regan Smith earned the most prize money of any athlete for a second-consecutive Pro Swim Series stop, and she now leads the entire series in earnings at $13,000. Smith didn’t even swim the season-opening stop at Greensboro, but put up identical $6500 totals in Knoxville and Des Moines to earn the series lead. Smith is still under amateurism restrictions on how much of that money she can accept, though, given that she still plans to swim for Stanford in the NCAA.

Smith & Murphy Lead PSS As 16 of Top 20 Swims of Season Come In Des Moines
SWIMSWAM
March 9, 2020— It’s a backstroker’s world; we just live in it. Backstrokers Ryan Murphy and Regan Smith lead the 2020 Pro Swim Series as the Des Moines stop produced 16 of the top 20 swims of the Pro Swim Series season in FINA points. Smith already led the series by a pretty-much-insurmountable margin. In fact, after her 986-point 100 back swim in Knoxville, we did some fun math to project just how improbable it would be that anyone could beat that swim over the rest of the tour.

While Dressel ranks 2nd for the 2019-2020 season globally, Adrian has now moved up to 8th in the world with his Saturday swim. Canadian Brent Hayden had a standout performance during his comeback, hitting the Olympic A cut for third place at 21.97 . Hayden now ranks 11th in the world this ...

TYR Pro Series: Regan Smith Wins Sneak Peek of Trials Final in 100 Back
SWIMMING WORLD NEWS
March 8, 2020— The final night of the TYR Pro Series stop in Des Moines was very much a sneak preview of what is to come at the United States Olympic Trials in June, especially in the women’s 100 backstroke. One night after prevailing in the 200 backstroke, Regan Smith bested a strong field at half the distance with the sixth-fastest time in history. Smith led wire-to-wire in a field that also included former world-record holder Kathleen Baker and Olivia Smoliga , the world champion in the 50 backstroke.
