Katsuhiro Matsumoto Breaks Japanese Record in 200 Free With 1:45 to Open Kitajima Cup The Kitajima Cup opened competition Friday night in Tokyo at the Tatsumi International Swimming Center (home of the 2018 Pan Pacs) with some of Japan’s best on display in the three day meet. Worlds silver medalist Katsuhiro Matsumoto impressed with a national record in the 200 freestyle with a 1:45.13, lowering his own record of 1:45.22 from the 2019 Worlds.
