The 2020 men’s Pac-12 Championships concludes tonight with finals of the 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, platform diving, and 400 free relay. Cal has pretty much locked up the title at this point, with Arizona State in good position to take 2nd. Arizona and Stanford have an outside shot to take that runner-up spot. Arizona’s Brooks Fail will swim a double tonight as the top seed in the mile and the 3rd seed in the 200 fly. The 2020 men’s Pac-12 Championships continue Friday morning with prelims of the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, and 100 back. Cal’s top seed Trenton Julian has scratched out of the 400 IM, leaving teammate Hugo Gonzalez as the new top seed going in. Stanford’s Grant Shoults (#12) also scratched the event. Both will swim the 200 free instead, where Julian is the 3rd seed and Shoults is #10. Cal’s Zheng Quah has scratched from his 5th seed in the 100 back and 6th seed in the 200 free.

USA Swimming today announced the names of the 48 up-and-coming athletes selected for the 14th Annual National Diversity Select Camp, to be held May 7-10 at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The full list of camp participants and coaching staff is now available. Forty-two different clubs from 22 states will be represented at the 2020 camp.

The USA Swimming Phillips 66 Nationals will be this week July 25-29 in Irvine, California and will serve as a selection meet for a number of big international meets. The main meet it is selecting for is the Pan Pacific Championships in Tokyo, Japan, which are about three weeks away. The meet will be August 9-12 and the United States will be selecting the top three swimmers for Pan Pacs, and the top two overall from Nationals and Pan Pacs will move on to the World Championships in 2019.
