2021 TYR Pro Swim Series: Justin Ress, Catie DeLoof Continue Momentum in 100 Freestyle The strength of the men’s sprint scene during the two-site TYR Pro Swim Series over the weekend was undoubtedly in Richmond. After the top three finishers in the 50 free came from the Virginia stop on Saturday night, the 100 freestyle was even more tilted toward Richmond on Sunday evening, as the fastest-four times came from the East Coast. Backing up his victory in the 100 backstroke from a night earlier, Justin Ress took top honors in the 100 free with a mark of 49.18, which was .34 clear of the ...

The final night from the San Antonio Pro Swim should be another exciting one — though there will be a few sparsely populated heats. World record holder Regan Smith has scratched out of the women’s 200 back, as has Emma Weyant , leaving just six swimmers in that event tonight. Phoebe Bacon and Isabelle Stadden come in as the top two seeds. Will Grant has also dropped out of the men’s 200 back, meaning just four will contest that race, though it remains intriguing with Ryan Murphy , Shaine Casas and Austin Katz in the field. Other key matchups to watch for tonight include Abbey Weitzei ...

Much like the rest of the world, Indiana head coach Ray Looze has had difficulties processing the coronavirus pandemic that has caused normal life to be turned upside down. Looze and his Indiana team lost a chance to compete at the NCAA Championships and he has had to resort to coaching from home while trying to prepare for an Olympic Games that is now another 400+ days away. But he has put a positive spin on it. “Typically we take the month of August as a break time so we are trying to look at now as a break time. But I feel like this will be a much longer break than any of us are i ...

In addition to the regular racing on Friday at the Pro Swim Series – Des Moines, there was a series of afternoon time trials. In fact, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at this meet all have time trials sessions, and we’re seeing bigger names show up for them than what usually happens at these Pro Swim Series meets. That includes a pair of US National Teamers and a Canadian Olympian in the 100 freestyles.
