Chinese fans have turned on Sun Yang in a “spray” of social-media criticism of the swimmer following the publication of the full report of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) outlining the reasons why the three-times Olympic champion has been banned for eight years. Sun, who has long been adored by loyal fans and defended robustly between his positive test of 2014 and his latest anti-doping challenge, now finds himself called “a big baby”,”arrogant” and “rude”, while the team about him is labelled “stupid and evil” in some of the posts calling on the swimmer and his entourage to ...

Rest assured that when Cate Campbell stands in front of the media she will be entertaining, fun, considered, have a laugh at herself, cleverly deflect or give her opinion on whatever the story of the day is. Yesterday it was her age, Mack Horton, Fina, the Sun Yang sentence, the AIS, the 100m freestyle, the 4x100m freestyle camp, Coronavirus and a fourth Olympic campaign.

Tony Shaw , is fuming. Silence was never golden when it came to a federation’s responsibilities to act in the interest of its athletes, suggested the chairman of the Australian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association (ASCTA) and an Australian team coach himself. And he was going to be silent no more. Pointing the finger squarely at Swimming Australia, for “sitting on its hands” and not leading the charge to get Mack Horton the 400m freestyle World title back from Sun Yang.

Just over two days after Chinese superstar Sun Yang was handed an eight-year period of ineligibility from the Court of Arbitration for Sport, rival Mack Horton has broken his silence on the matter.
Speaking to Australia’s 7NEWS, Horton didn’t take shots at Sun, and instead spoke about how, no matter what the call was, he continues to fully support clean sport.

Sky News host Chris Smith has said he is “extremely happy” to see the Court of Arbitration for Sport effectively end the career of Chinese swimmer Sun Yang, in a move which highlights “China’s arrogant” approach to world domination. The Olympic swimmer has been hit with an eight-year ban after the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) found the 28-year-old guilty of doping. “This is more than a bad sports story; this is a story about China’s arrogant and foul approach to world domination,” Mr Smith said. “Sun Yang deserves his punishment; but more than that, China deserves this humiliation."

The 2019 FINA Aquatic World Championships saw its first medal ceremony filled with drama, as the men’s 400m freestyle silver medalist, Australia’s Mack Horton , protested gold medalist Sun Yang ‘s presence by abstaining from podium celebrations, standing behind the platform on the floor during the Chinese national anthem. Horton’s behavior is having ripple effects more than 6 months later, as his childhood school of Caulfield Grammar is reportedly shying away from naming its new state-of-the-art aquatic center after its first Olympic champion constituent.

An exclusive Melbourne school won’t name its new aquatic centre after Mack Horton because it could threaten its business interests with China . Caulfield Grammar School has abandoned plans to name its new $25 million swimming facility after the Olympic champion following his snub of Chinese rival Sun Yang. Horton refused to join Sun on the podium at the swimming world championships in South Korea last year, and previously labelled him a ‘drug cheat’ at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
